2018 Unoaked Chardonnay
Aromas of lemon zest, orchard blossom & green pear. Fresh flavours of lemon balm, meyer lemon, crisp green apple & wet river stones with a streak of minerality on the mid-palate & a bright acidity on the finish.
100% Chardonnay from Summerland. We source Chardonnay from 2 of our estate vineyards in Summerland. Each parcel is processed separately, we then crush & destem the fruit & allow the must to sit under CO2 for about an hour before we gently press off skins. The juice is racked & we use select yeast to bring out the tropical fruit & apple blossom notes that are so characteristic of our Chardonnays. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks which helps to retain crisp fruit aromas & flavours.
Food Pairing Notes
This unoaked Chardonnay pairs well with more delicate food such as crab legs & prawns. Lighter pasta dishes & even veggie soup would pair well. When pairing cheese, think goat cheese, Camembert or Fontina.
